World of Warcraft Item UpgradesUpgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats. The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.Item LevelWhen an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. The value is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded. The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at a lower level. The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.Using the item level can help players evaluate the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the item level. On PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat. There are several theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. item upgrades is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item. However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the size of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.Item StatsItem stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's level.Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could be used to give the item extra damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item. All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other options for rerolling.Players can upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll the affixes. item upgrader are determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within that range unless they are an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.Item LuckThe Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains. In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items are available from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.Item FailureItem upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails. The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..The luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
