This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.Item FailureNot all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
